Jewel Box Steak, a locally owned, family-run steakhouse in Lake Oswego, OR, partnered with KP Creative Consulting to bring their vision for a high-end dining experience to life. Through comprehensive brand development, we crafted an identity that reflects both their elevated culinary offerings and their deep local roots. Our work included designing and developing a sophisticated website, creating an elegant and easy-to-navigate menu, and producing a suite of custom brand assets. The result is a cohesive, polished presence that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience grounded in warmth, quality, and community.

Our partnership with Jewel Box Steak began by immersing ourselves in the founder’s vision—a refined, high-end dining experience with the soul of a locally owned, family-run establishment. Through in-depth discovery sessions, we explored her inspirations, values, and aspirations for the restaurant. With a clear understanding of the brand’s personality, we set out to craft a visual and verbal identity that would feel both elevated and grounded in authenticity.

A key anchor for this phase was the restaurant’s beautifully designed physical space, which already exuded a sense of modern sophistication with intimate, moody details. We took cues from the rich textures, warm tones, and jewel-like accents of the interiors to inform the digital and visual brand expression. This allowed for a seamless translation of ambiance from the in-person dining experience to the digital space.

We built a comprehensive set of brand guidelines that included logo marks and lockups, a refined color palette inspired by the space’s deep emeralds, burnished golds, and charcoals, and a sophisticated typography system that balanced modern elegance with readability. We developed brand voice guidelines that captured the warmth of a family-run business with the poise of fine dining, and outlined use cases across digital and print to ensure consistency.

This foundational work became the creative blueprint for all brand extensions moving forward—from the website and menus to signage and social media presence—ensuring every touchpoint delivered a cohesive and compelling experience that reflects the essence of Jewel Box Steak.

Phase One:

With a strong brand foundation in place, Phase Two focused on translating the Jewel Box Steak experience into an engaging, user-friendly digital platform. Our goal was to design a website that felt as refined and intimate as the restaurant itself—serving as both a visual extension of the space and a storytelling vehicle for the family behind the concept.

From the outset, functionality was key. We seamlessly integrated the restaurant’s reservation platform to allow for real-time booking directly from the site, creating a smooth and intuitive guest experience. We also implemented an interactive, easy-to-update menu feature that allows the team to showcase seasonal offerings and chef specials with ease, while maintaining the elevated aesthetic of the brand.

In addition to functionality, we prioritized storytelling. The website includes a dedicated section that shares the story of the family behind Jewel Box Steak—highlighting their roots in the Lake Oswego community, their shared passion for hospitality, and the inspiration behind bringing this high-end dining vision to life. Through carefully curated imagery, thoughtful copy, and elegant design, the site invites guests to connect not only with the cuisine, but with the people and purpose behind the restaurant.

The final product is a digital experience that mirrors the care, quality, and personality found at Jewel Box Steak—from the first click to the first course.

Phase 3:

Comprehensive menu suite design

With the brand and website established, Phase Three focused on designing a complete suite of in-restaurant menus that would elevate the dining experience and reflect the attention to detail that defines Jewel Box Steak. Working closely with the founder and restaurant team, we developed a cohesive set of print materials including a dinner menu, bar menu, beverage menu, and an extensive wine book.

Each piece was thoughtfully designed to align with the brand guidelines established in Phase One—featuring consistent typography, color palette, and layout structure while allowing for subtle distinctions that helped guests navigate each offering. Materials, finishes, and formats were carefully selected to enhance both durability and presentation, ensuring each menu felt as intentional as the dishes and drinks they featured.

The wine book in particular served as a storytelling moment, showcasing the restaurant’s expertly curated wine list in a format that was both informative and beautiful. From layout and hierarchy to spacing and paper selection, we approached every element with the same level of refinement that guests experience at the table.

This menu suite not only streamlined operations for staff but also reinforced the brand’s premium positioning—bringing clarity, elegance, and warmth to every touchpoint of the guest journey.

Phase Four:

Full-spectrum brand support

In the final phase, we brought the Jewel Box Steak brand to life across every customer touchpoint through ongoing, comprehensive brand support. With the visual identity, website, and menu suite established, our focus shifted to ensuring consistency, cohesion, and creativity across all brand extensions.

We developed a foundational social media strategy that aligned with the restaurant’s tone and visual identity—highlighting seasonal dishes, behind-the-scenes moments, and the story of the family behind the concept to foster connection and community. This included content direction, visual templates, caption guidance, and strategic recommendations for cadence and platform engagement.

Beyond digital, we designed a collection of thoughtful brand assets that added a layer of charm and intentionality to the in-person experience. From custom-designed gift cards and branded matchbooks, each piece was crafted to feel like a natural extension of the Jewel Box brand—elevated, warm, and memorable.

Additionally, KP Creative acted as a strategic partner, consulting the client on broader marketing initiatives to build awareness and drive traffic in an authentic, brand-aligned way.

Phase Four was about weaving every element together into a living, breathing brand system—ensuring Jewel Box Steak didn’t just open its doors, but made a lasting impression from day one.
